tv and films, etc

So I have the first episode of 'Kings' on in the background, and I'm not utterly convinced by it, but I like Sebastian Stan a bit more than I probably should (blame The Covenant rather than Gossip Girl - his over-acting made that film vaguely tolerable. That and the shower scene. :-/) and of course it's quite interesting that he's Spoilers )

Recent movie round-up. Spoilers.

Watchmen )

Across The Universe )

Marley and Me )

Knocked Up )

And, finally - this week's Skins = my favourite episode of Skins ever. Not even just this series. Ever. The twins are such great characters, and I loved the depth of their relationship. The twin talk, and Katie trying to sabotage Emily's relationship, and basically the whole scene at the ball. I always feel superlative towards the end of each series of Skins. It does what it does so very well. With that said, though, I'm really not looking forward to the Cook and Effy show next week. :-/ MORE TWINS, PLS.

Please don't judge me?

I spent too much money on clothes just now, but when your social life is as hectic as mine currently is, that's kind of necessary. The reason for my hectic social life simply comes down to internet dating, which is hard work and annoying, but quite exciting at the same time. Consider: in two weeks, I'll have gone out with six different men on eight different dates. That's kind of slutty, I guess, but at least nobody can now accuse me of not working on my love life. See?! I can network! I can experiment!

I keep thinking, though, when it comes to second dates, I'm going to do something awful like call one of them by the wrong name, or start talking about something I already talked about on the first date. :-/

The Diving Bell and the Butterfly )

(gg) goofy blake/chace

Oh-Em-Gee!

Snow day!!

I woke up at my usual ridiculous o'clock time, got down to the station for 6am to find all the usual trains had been cancelled. So I walked round to another teacher's house, who attempted to drive in, and we'd literally driven what should have been five minutes in about thirty minutes when we got a call through to tell us school had been closed.

And now it's all pretty and wonderful and LOVELY.

This is possibly the best day of my life.

Needs more boy kissing

I have just made the perfect lemon cake. Light, fluffy and just the right amount of lemon. I feel as if I've excelled myself with this one, but as usual, I am disappointed that my culinary skills are basically being wasted on my immediate family. I would make someone a wonderful wife. I really would.

Some thoughts on the new series of Skins )

The true meaning of terror

I realise that even reading about terrible ITV show 'Demons' might cause unsafe levels of disbelief and WTFuckery. This is largely unpreventable. With that in mind, I have included some topless pictures of Christian Cooke to ease your pain and mine. )

decisions decisions...

Do I watch Demons or Eurovison: Your Country Needs You tonight? On one hand... Christian Cooke! Shirtless! On the other hand... Not ITV! Therefore not completely shit!

Gosh, I do love Christian Cooke, though. I even suffered Echo Beach for that guy.

James Lance: Better to be on Echo Beach than dead.
Simon Amstell: Welllll....

Still makes me laugh. Every time.

One of my new year's resolutions is to see more theatre, even if it's on my own, even if it's rubbish. With that in mind (hopefully not the last part of that sentence), I've booked a ticket for Easter weekend to see Three Days Of Rain with James McAvoy and Nigel Harman (little Den!) I'm very excited!

Shameful confession: I don't really know this play, and figured that it might, like many serious plays, have some man kissing in it. So I've just typed in (rather hopefully) 'three days of rain gay' into Google. By the looks of things, no man kissing. Marcia Gay Harden was in it once, though.

Obviously not a computer geek, then.

How difficult is it to install RAM? I cracked open my computer today, slotted the sticks into place, and then shut it back up. Turned on my computer, checked the properties... no difference in RAM. :-/

Various instructional sites have tried to convince me that it shouldn't be difficult at all to install, but now I've got two sticks rattling around in my computer, incorrectly, and it's making me paranoid. So off my computer will have to go to a specialist, but because of the sodding new year, that probably won't be for a few days.

Has anyone else ever installed RAM before? Did you find it incredibly straight forward or is there something tricky I need to look out for?
